Apple has changed its MacBook connection standard from Thunderbolt 4 to Thunderbolt 5. Macs that boast an M4 Pro, M4 Max or M3 Ultra now come armed with at least three Thunderbolt 5 ports, while Macs with plain M4 processors remain on Thunderbolt 4. Some earlier MacBook Air models had their ports listed as “Thunderbolt / USB 4” and “Thunderbolt 4 and USB 4” on its Pro and Max models.
What does all this mean? What is the difference between Thunderbolt 5, Thunderbolt 3 and Thunderbolt 3? And then what is USB4?
