Recently, word went around that the only way to get 256GB of RAM in an iMac Pro was at the factory. OWC paid no attention to that, and is now offering to upgrade this powerful desktop to the maximum amount. Even better, its 256GB of RAM modules go for 52 percent less than the cost to have the same upgrade done by Apple.
More RAM for less $$$
While the $2,499 price for OWC’s 256GB upgrade is hardly chump change, Apple asks $5,200 to install the same amount when the iMac Pro is being built.
For those looking for a bout less RAM, OWC’s 128GB upgrades for this powerful computer are either $1,149 or $1,299 depending on whether the kits consist of four 32GB modules or two 64GB modulates, respectively. Apple asks $2,000 to build the iMac Pro with 128GB of RAM.
